Ideas for introducing daily self-care into your routine
With our hectic and fast-paced lifestyles the idea of self-care can seem alien, irrelevant and just utterly unobtainable. This does not have to be the case. All of us owe it to ourselves to take just a few moments to think about how we can incorporate a little more self-care into our day to day lives.
Self-care means something different to all of us, it doesn’t have to be the same as anyone else, all it has to be is totally enjoyable!!
So how can we start to introduce it into our lives a bit more?! Well…….. First of all we need to get straight about what is good for us and what we love!
Time to get the old pencil and paper out if you have a mo, or if you are a super tech unlike me you might want to make a list on your phone (I think that is possible).
Lets think about something plausible that takes less than 10 minutes that you really really enjoy that you can fit into your day. Before you panic and think “But I literally have no time” ask yourself honestly how long you spend on social media in a day ;) …… scary really isn’t it? (I’ve lost track of how many photos of smashed avocado on toast I have seen …..)
Do you have a book that you have been meaning to read but just never started? Try just 10 minutes while you are sat on the sofa of an evening when normally you would be scrolling on the phone!
Do you have a beautiful perfume that you save for special occasions? Why not give yourself a spritz of that in the morning so you can smell and feel delicious throughout the day?!
On your way to work could you blast out your absolutely fave tune instead of listening to the news?!
When was the last time you painted your nails?!
Can you spare just 10 minutes to go into a room on your own and listen to a short guided meditation?
If you have a darling pet perhaps you could put your phone to one side and maybe turn the TV off for 10 minutes and just spend that time really cuddling them (provided they enjoy it obviously!).
